Ready or Not came out back in December last year. After waiting a couple of weeks so that the developers had time to patch the hottest problems, the StopGame special squad set out to figure out whether the new game is worthy of being called the heir to the legendary and cult SWAT 4 .

Hi Fen, can I have a separate video on Cruelty Squad??
Well, I absolutely doubt that this kind of crap that’s going on in the footage. The situation is stressful, of course, but when you spend 5 minutes of real time swearing at a civilian, yelling at him and hitting him in the back of the head, and he doesn’t say a word, well, it’s not even mechanically cool. Then give me the “break by force” button, since he doesn’t want to give up, comrade.
In SWAT 4 they also ran, and in my opinion they could even pick up a weapon if you didn’t pick it up from the floor. And somehow there was such a feeling of total chaos, there was more understanding and control of the situation.
Cruelty Squad was mentioned in the preview. Where is any material about the game on the site?? IMHO one of the best games of the past year, but left without any mention on the site. Why so, Mr. Loev? I apologize for being offtopic
Unpredictability is good. But here it sometimes looks like an abuse of the fact that the operatives are deaf and clumsy. On the other hand, armed guys don’t float like that – you’re allowed to make fun of them, but civilians who scatter like cockroaches and don’t react to anything, not wanting to give up for several minutes – this is, well, just bad absurdity.
The artificial intelligence in the game is https://mexswincasino.co.uk/login/ wild and unpredictable.
In reality, people who make game in a moment of panic during a raid.
It was worth sharing then, I think. Civilians – yes, but opponents – on the contrary, it’s very cool that they can stupidly start rushing, but you won’t be able to predict this.
No, I agree with the civilians.
By the way, you can speed up the operatives (well, at least yourself) by putting away the weapon, or more precisely, without holding it at the ready. You need to check in the control settings – one of the buttons is responsible for this. This, of course, is not running, but still.
The claim that the enemy is unpredictable is super strange. It is clear that, most likely, the AI will be fixed, but it is the unpredictability that additionally tickles the nerves, which is just good for a special forces simulator.
Well, the conclusion at the end with a direct confrontation between the game from early access and the long-released and patched SWAT4 is also puzzling. It seems that the EA Die in Steam and the description inside it clearly speaks about the condition of the product.
Yes, I understand. But the answer to why RoN is needed, it seems to me, is obvious – this is SWAT5, which people who have erased SWAT4 have been waiting for so long. Yes, with the same mechanics, but modernized. I’m sure EA will come in. Yes, damn it, it’s already there, just look at the reviews on Steam.
No matter how they rated the game, expressed all the disadvantages and shortcomings at the moment, just compared it with the standard. The game is still EA and that’s why it’s called a video preview and not a review.
By the way, about the lack of sprint – there is a semblance of it in the game, t. n. low ready, holding weapon down. By default this is Home, you need to rebind it, but with it you really walk 20 percent faster and even while aiming you can lower the barrel and then quickly raise it.
In general, I largely agree with the preview, but again, even though SVAT4 is a more polished, proven classic, RoN is not unnecessary. If only because, with all the advantages of SWAT, this is a game 17 years ago and the shooting there was already weak at the time of release, while I don’t remember any more adrenaline and chaotic shootings than in RoN anywhere. And even being a “framework”, the game manages to drag on for long hours, and even with bots, clearing all six maps, at least in a normal scenario with barricaded criminals, will take 10 hours, and if with a friend or two, or even with a full party, it’s generally the same.
Against the backdrop of numerous comparisons with the “SWAT” series, I can’t help but recall the undeservedly forgotten project “The Regiment”. Ideally, the game is very similar, but in terms of realism it is a cut above, since it describes real methods of implementing combat missions and even very real SAS operations. And, most importantly, it contains normal training, in which they explain to you the basics of anti-terrorism tactics, and don’t just let you shoot into a cardboard house. It would be interesting to listen to the opinion of someone who played both this game and “SWAT” and “The Regiment”, after all, I don’t really want to give more money for an incomprehensible product in early access for the sake of forming my own feelings.
I think you were too hasty with the review. The game is now in an early stage of development, the review will very quickly become irrelevant, for example, a circus with panic has already been fixed in the test build for supporters. Now hostages run away if the swat is far away or scared by a gunshot. This game can be described in the same way as Baldur’s Gate. The foundation is excellent, you just need to wait a year or two, and it is recommended to buy for enthusiasts who are impatient or want to help develop.
Yeah, it immediately reminded me of SWAT 3. I still remember the first mission in the house with the shooter from the attic.
